The project included upgrade of the existing 15kV medium voltage campus distribution system.
This $12MM project consisted of the replacement of the existing medium voltage utility switchgear with a new state of the art Main-tie-Main switchgear lineup with a redundant feeder to each of the existing campus building loads.
The project included coordination with the local utility company (Eversource) for the design of a new 15kV utility station to serve the hospital. The new service was installed at the existing central plant at the rear of the campus and a new addition had to be constructed to house the switchgear lineup. New redundant underground duct bank/manhole system was installed throughout the campus to refeed the existing building loads.
This project was successfully completed in 2019 with minimal interruption to hospital patient services during the numerous shutdowns and cutovers which needed to occur.
